Statement on the closure of the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is proud to have been a founder of the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies, and proud to have supported the Center’s work for two decades. The Center provided respected analysis to policy-makers and leaders across the state, and built common understanding on issues important to New Hampshire. We are indebted to their staff and board — past and present — who continue to embody the Center’s commitment to leadership and thoughtful policy analysis in their many roles around our state.

The landscape around access to data and information has changed dramatically since the Center’s founding 20 years ago, and there have been changes in New Hampshire’s  nonprofit landscape as well. What has not changed is the critical need for thoughtful, informed discussion — across party lines and differing points of view. New Hampshire has a strong tradition of this kind of engagement, and the Foundation will continue to support such engagement in many forms and with many partners and organizations across our state. For now, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Center for Public Policy Studies for its many contributions, and to the many generous people who have supported its important work.
