CONCORD (Press Release) – NH Gives, New Hampshire’s largest online fundraising event for nonprofits, returns on June 6-7 with an opportunity to support hundreds of nonprofit organizations doing great work in New Hampshire communities. Last year, more than 13,000 generous people gave $3.5 million to 575 nonprofit organizations in just 24 hours. This year, a record breaking 619 nonprofit organizations will participate, sharing their stories of impact and asking Granite Staters to pitch in to help fund critical work across the state.
NHGives.org is an easy-to-use, secure platform where people can learn about the impact of nonprofits in the Granite State and donate directly. Participating nonprofits are helping to feed people who are hungry, mentor children, protect the environment, spur civic engagement, enrich our communities through the arts — and so much more. For 24 hours between 5 p.m. on June 6 and 5 p.m. on June 7, donations are tallied as participating nonprofit organizations compete for additional cash prizes, with leaderboards displaying progress. People can choose from more than 600 nonprofits to support — and take advantage of more than $1 million in matching funds to increase the impact of their contributions.
“We are inviting people across New Hampshire to join us on June 6th and 7th as we celebrate and support the nonprofit organizations that enrich our lives and keep our communities strong,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the NH Center for Nonprofits. “NH Gives makes it easy and fun for people to donate to causes they care about, as well as discover organizations that might be new to them.”
The event has raised more than $12 million for 1,000 New Hampshire nonprofits since it was created in 2016. In the last three years alone, NH Gives has raised more than $10 million for New Hampshire nonprofits.
“New Hampshire asks a lot of our nonprofit sector. And in the past few years, we have asked for even more,” said Richard Ober, president and CEO of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and lead sponsor of NH Gives. “NH Gives is a great opportunity to show your support for the hundreds of organizations that provide the thousands of services and programs that make New Hampshire better for all of us.”
To encourage more people to give during the 24-hour event, the Charitable Foundation and its donors will offer $30,000 in “Power of Community” awards to the organizations that have the highest number of unique online donors over the 24 hours; and will offer more than $200,000 in sitewide, regional and nonprofit matches (part of the total $1 million in matching funds for the event).
NH Gives is supported by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Comcast NBCUniversal, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Eversource, Fidium, MVSB, Century 21, Beth Saunders Associates, Merrimack County Savings Bank, Sprague Energy, Lifeboat Accounting, RHL Strategies, Clear Mission Consulting, Nobel Evaluation, Quality Photo Booths, Andrews Coaching & Consulting and Citizens.
