Foundation awards more than $3.2 million through Community Grants program

The Charitable Foundation awarded grants to 138 nonprofit organizations for general operating support and specific projects.

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded more than $3.2 million in grant funding to 138 nonprofit organizations through its 2024 Community Grants program.

The application grants program is made possible through the generosity of New Hampshire people, past and present, who have donated resources to the Foundation to help make New Hampshire a community where everyone can thrive. Funding for these grants comes from a combination of fund types at the Foundation, including unrestricted funds, field-of-interest funds and donor-advised funds. Generous people who establish unrestricted and field-of-interest funds do so with the intent that Foundation staff will decide how to disburse the grant funds. Foundation staff also share grant opportunities with holders of donor-advised funds, who make grant recommendations to nonprofits. Donor-advised-fundholders recommended $1.4 million in total to fund grant requests through this program. The Charitable Foundation awarded more than $70 million in grants and scholarships across all of its grantmaking and student aid programs last year.

Organizations were able to apply for up to $15,000 per year for up to two years for general operating support or for funding for specific projects. Most grants awarded were multiyear grants.
