Coos County Symposium

The Coos County Symposium was held on May 20 through May 22, 2008 at The BALSAMS in Dixville Notch and was attended by more than 100 leaders from Coos County, surrounding communities in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and the Eastern Townships of Quebec.  The event drew a diverse mix of people from nonprofit agencies, state and local government and business, and representing education, health care, arts and culture, environment and economic development.

Now in its second year, the Symposium is designed to build relationships across communities and issue areas, and strengthen the network of individuals and organizations working build the prosperity of families and the sustainability of economic, cultural and natural assets in the Coos County and surrounding communities.

This year the program included recent data and analysis about the region, updates on four key regional initiatives, and presentations on innovative programs in other rural areas of the country.
